The Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech invites applications for the position of Department Chair. The appointment will be at the level of a tenured full professor. The department seeks an innovative leader with a creative, sustainable vision for a multidisciplinary Psychology Department at a large land-grant university. The department chair must be committed to helping shape and further the strategic goals of a department with an international reputation for excellence in research with a substantial teaching mission. The department chair will provide visionary direction to the department and will embrace a collegial management and leadership style that utilizes input from faculty, staff, and students in making critical decisions. Candidates should have an exceptional record of accomplishment, including demonstrated strength in research as evidenced by outstanding publications and sustained extramural funding, and in teaching and professional service, qualifying them for appointment at the rank of Professor in the Department of Psychology.
