The University of South Dakota, Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position within its APA-accredited Ph.D. Program in Clinical Psychology to begin August 2024. The Clinical Psychology Program also houses the Disaster Mental Health Institute, which delivers an undergraduate minor, a graduate track within Clinical Psychology, and a graduate certificate in Disaster Mental Health Response. We are seeking candidates that are excited about leading an active research program, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, mentoring student research, and supervising clinical training. We are especially enthused about candidates with interests in assessment, personality, rural health, health disparities, implementation science, telehealth service delivery, adult psychotherapy, or geropsychology, but welcome candidates from any area of expertise within clinical psychology. Teaching assignments would be determined collaboratively based on candidate interests and the needs of the department, but candidates with interests in teaching graduate-level assessment and undergraduate personality, abnormal psychology, motivation, or research methods are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or another closely related field from an APA-accredited program and have completed an APA-accredited internship by the start date of the position. For candidates graduating in the Spring or Summer of 2024, we are able to provide post-doctoral supervision towards licensure at no cost. This is a 9-month position with competitive salary and benefits. Faculty typically have a 2-2 teaching load, with a mixture of undergraduate and graduate courses that fit their interests and expertise. Learn more about us at www.usd.edu/psychology.
