The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is accepting applications for a Tenure System position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. We invite applicants with strong programs of research, with funding or strong potential for funding. Preference will be given to researchers pursuing innovative research in computational modeling relevant to the advancement of knowledge in cognitive science, defined broadly to include affective, social, perceptual, neural, and cognitive representations/processes. Computational approaches may include, but are not limited to: Bayesian modeling, deep neural networks, probabilistic graphical modeling, reinforcement learning, computational psychometrics, graph theory, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate level courses in cognitive science, computational modeling, and/or advanced statistics courses, as well as mentoring of doctoral, master’s-level, and undergraduate students. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, which includes a strong commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. All candidates are expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals of diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. The appointment commences August 1, 2023. A doctoral degree is required. Postdoctoral training is desirable.
