The Department of Psychology, College of Science, at Virginia Tech invites applications for TWO Assistant Professor, tenure-track faculty positions in Clinical Science to begin August 2023 in our nationally recognized (2017 ABCT Outstanding Training Program) and dually accredited (APA and PCSAS) doctoral program. We welcome applications from individuals conducting research in any area of clinical psychology, including but not limited to stress and adaptation; developmental psychopathology, including autism and other child/adolescent disorders; risk and trauma; prevention/intervention programs or the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices; family, community, and global contexts; socioemotional and/or neurocognitive functioning; health and opportunity disparities; culture and psychopathology. Our department values a wide range of methods and approaches, including neurobiological (e.g. fMRI/EEG/ERP), sociocultural, translational, computational, qualitative, big-data, and community engaged research. Similarly, skills in advanced statistical expertise are of interest. All applicants are expected to have a strong and fundable program of research and to contribute to both graduate and undergraduate supervision and instruction in clinical science. Individuals studying the effects of adversity, social determinants, race/ethnicity, discrimination, neurodiversity, or those whose work samples predominantly under-represented or minoritized populations are especially encouraged to apply.
