The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) seeks an exceptional scholar with a Ph.D. in psychology, education, statistics, or a cognate field for an open-rank tenured or tenure-track position in its Ph.D. program in Educational Psychology. Specialization is broadly conceived as including statistics, measurement, and research design. The position is could start as early as Fall 2022. Knowledge of at least some of the following areas is required: missing data, causal inference, statistical learning, large-scale testing, research design, quantitative policy research, Bayesian statistics, and causal inference for observational data. Additionally, candidates should have skills in at least some of the areas currently covered in the program’s curriculum, including multilevel models, categorical data, structural equation models, and modern regression/prediction methods. The incumbent will teach graduate-level courses in some of these areas and should already have a record of successful teaching experience. They will also actively mentor graduate students across multiple research topics. The successful candidate will have an active research program and history/potential for effective extramural grant-seeking in one of these quantitative areas, commensurate with rank. In addition to pursuing their own research interests, the incumbent will have opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. Although the candidate’s research area is open, research invested in public-facing scholarship is consistent with the institution’s commitment to excellence and inclusion. Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus (or office). QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
