The College of Education and Department of Psychology at Tennessee State University, a public HBCU in Nashville, invite candidates to apply for a tenure-track faculty position. We are looking for a self-motivated, student-centered, adaptable individual with a passion for helping students of all backgrounds learn and succeed. The selected candidate will be part of a large and vibrant Bachelor of Science Psychology Program who would assume primary responsibility for teaching (both online and on ground) and coordinating the instruction and assessment of introductory psychology courses. Strong applicants will have experience teaching from a decolonized and cross/multi-cultural perspective. This role would include developing and implementing a system for recruiting, training, and managing an effective team of adjuncts. Additional responsibilities include: academic and career advising for majors; engaging in and maintaining active scholarship; and providing research mentorship to undergraduate students. A demonstrated interest in and/or experience with culturally responsive teaching, or other techniques for working effectively with diverse students, is strongly preferred. Area of psychology is open.
