Hi all, we have an opening for full-time faculty members in the Department of Psychology at LIU – Brooklyn for Fall 2022 – please forward to any colleagues or former students who might be interested. We are located in downtown Brooklyn, so you couldn’t ask for a more exciting place to live and work. The position will involve opportunities for teaching at the BA, MA, and PhD levels; clinical faculty will have opportunities to provide psychotherapy supervision, and all will be involved in research training. We have a wonderful APA-accredited PhD Program in Clinical Psychology - ours is one of the few remaining PhD programs in the country with a primarily psychodynamic orientation, with both integrative clinical training and rigorous empirical research. We’re a close-knit community with a very collegial atmosphere, and our doctoral students are really a pleasure to work with. It is important to emphasize that our administration is very focused on grant productivity. The position is open-rank, so junior-level applicants will want to demonstrate potential for securing extramural funding, while mid- and senior-level applicants will want to show a track record of securing grants. We could benefit from expertise in a number of different areas, but those working in child development, trauma and community interventions would be particularly desirable. Lastly, the department values diversity, and so applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
