The Department of Psychology at California State University, Fresno invites applications for a tenureĀ­ track position in Social and/or Personality Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will be broadly trained in social and/or personality psychology. Candidates should show evidence of effectiveness in teaching and have an active research program that can involve both undergraduate and Masters-level students. The workload is 15 Weighted Teaching Units (WTUs) per semester, generally composed of 12 WTUs of instruction (classes are typically 4 WTUs each) and 3 WTUs of non-instructional activities. We prefer individuals who can teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in personality psychology and/or social psychology, and topics courses in one or both of those areas. We also prefer individuals with expertise in multivariate statistics and/or research methods as a secondary specialty. Additional responsibilities typically include but are not limited to, advising and mentoring students, and participation in department, college, and university service. Strong teaching skills are highly valued by the department and university. Professional development in teaching and scholarship is supported by a wide range of university centers and programs. Teaching excellence is assessed through the use of learning objectives and outcomes assessments. Specific assignments are dependent on departmental needs and the expertise of the individual.
