The Department of Psychological Sciences is requesting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social/Personality Psychology, to begin in August 2022. The social/personality area is part of a research-based Ph.D.-granting department. Responsibilities will include teaching two courses per semester (graduate and undergraduate), establishing an ongoing program of research, and engaging in service activities supporting the department, college, and university. Candidates should have a strong research program, as evidenced by publications and presentations, and demonstrated excellence in teaching. A strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students from a diverse population is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an independent program of research that involves undergraduate and graduate researchers, and will be expected to seek external funding for their research. We are open to applicants from all areas of Social Psychology but are particularly interested in those whose research intersects with health issues and the research of our other faculty. Teaching responsibilities are expected to include undergraduate and graduate courses in social and personality psychology, and ability to teach courses in health, developmental, or abnormal psychology would also be welcomed.
