The Psychology Department of the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Behavioral Neuroscience to begin August, 2022. We seek a scientist that uses forward-thinking, cutting-edge technical approaches to determine the genetic, molecular/cellular and circuit bases of adaptive and disordered behavior. Particular attention will be given to applicants that augment existing departmental strengths in learning, motivation, addiction and developmental disorders. The successful candidate will have a promising program of research in Behavioral Neuroscience and potential to secure external funding. The Department is home to a vibrant Ph.D. program and provides ample opportunities and facilities for research, including collaboration with over 100 neuroscience faculty at UIC. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the teaching missions of Psychology, UIC’s highly successful undergraduate neuroscience major, and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience.
