The School of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Assistant Clinical Professor position beginning February 1, 2020 (start date negotiable) who will serve as Director of our newly combined training clinic. The School of Psychology is in the process of consolidating three training clinics and relocating them to a newly renovated clinic space. The combined clinic will serve both university students and child and adult clients from Hattiesburg and the surrounding southern Mississippi region, offering individual, couples, and group therapy, as well as psychological and psychoeducational assessment. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to assist with the development of a new psychological training clinic serving three APA accredited doctoral programs in Clinical, Counseling, and School psychology, and an MPCAC accredited master's in Counseling Psychology program (about 75 graduate students across these 4 programs). We aim to recruit ambitious and creative professionals who will bring their expertise to the development of a newly combined mental health training clinic and work t expand training opportunities for students across programs through innovative, evidence based training opportunities. Qualified applicants will be able to provide cross-program clinical supervision and training, manage a busy mental health clinic, and teach courses in the School of Psychology. The Clinic Director position includes appointment as a member of the School of Psychology and therefore, some teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level is expected. Opportunities for research collaborations, particularly collaborations which contribute to the quality of clinic services may be available. The School of Psychology has approximately 500 undergraduate majors and 125 graduate students across three APA-accredited doctoral Programs (Counseling, Clinical, & School), and experimental Brain and Behavior doctoral program and a MPCAC accredited master's program in counseling psychology. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical, counseling or school psychology, (by August 2020) and completion of an APA accredited predoctoral internship. License eligible in the state of Mississippi. Preferred Qualifications Experience with both child and adult interventions and psychological/ psychoeducational assessment is desirable, although candidates with expertise and/or specialization with more specific clinical populations will be considered. The successful candidate will bring a commitment to high quality supervision, evidence-based clinical training and service delivery, strong organizational and leadership skills, and an interest in program development. Previous experience with outpatient training clinics, university counseling centers, school-based services, and/or graduate student training is preferred. Students in the School Psychology doctoral program earn certification in Applied Behavior Analysis and familiarity with this area of service delivery will be useful.
