THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY AT WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY in Pullman, WA invites applications for a permanent full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Pullman, Washington, with a health-related focus, preferably in the area of Substance Use/Abuse. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin the appointment on August 16, 2020. Although the specific area of research expertise is open, applicants who conduct biopsychological research in humans or animals related to issues of substance use/abuse will be of particular interest. Job duties: Developing and maintaining a productive research program, seeking appropriate grant funding, mentoring graduate student research in the Experimental Psychology PhD program, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses on topics of biopsychology and related areas (up to two courses per semester), collaborating with members of the Department of Psychology as well as members of other departments and programs (e.g., Neuroscience), and providing service to the department, college, university and/or profession. Qualifications: An earned doctoral degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related disciplines, and at least one year of post-doctoral research training by employment start date, with a demonstrated record of research publication. Preferred qualifications include previous teaching experience and evidence of ability to obtain extramural funding.
